The opportunity

First Digital Trust (FDT) is seeking QA Engineer to join our growing team in Kuala Lumpur. As a QA Engineer, you will work hands-on to introduce advanced test methods & techniques, improve test design and execution, and expand ongoing automation efforts with total focus on product quality. You will maintain and coordinate accurate test plans, reproduce and prioritise reported issues, coordinate accordingly with each of the team members. You'll be working in an Agile development environment.


  • Build a working model of our complex software in your mind and use that model to be efficient at finding issues and helping us improve our platform.
  • Work with the Product and Engineering teams to understand product requirements (both business and technical).
  • Test strategies, create well-structured test plans, and execute test cases manually and via automation.
  • Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and essential feedback.
  • Estimate, prioritize, and plan testing activities.
  • Identify, record, track, and document bugs. Monitor debugging process and perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
  • Assist in triage and reproducing tricky bug reports from users and our manual QA team.
  • Contribute to daily stand-ups to stay on top of things and report progress.
  • Autonomously identify potential issues and propose solutions that help in improving software quality.
  • Support other team members with change and release control.
  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies


  • At least three years of strong QA experience in manual and automated software testing, preferably on SaaS applications.
  • Knowledge of JSON, Javascript, .NET, HTML, web applications.
  • Strong understanding of test plans (test cases, test scenarios, testing cadence, and test execution).
  • Proven success in planning/writing, executing and maintaining manual & automated test suites with commercial or open source tools.
  • Experience working in an agile-style development process.
  • Experience working with team tracking tools such as JIRA.
  • Familiarity with automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, Robotium, or Mocha is an added advantage.
